About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Underwriter to join our team at MS Amlin, a leading global insurance group. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a crucial role in making sound underwriting decisions and contributing to the operational delivery of our strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in arranging and attending client meetings to build strong relationships and understand client needs.
  • Collaborate with actuaries to develop pricing models and ensure accurate risk assessments.
  • Liaise with the claims team to stay up-to-date on claims situations and ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure all required risk documents are accurately indexed and scanned onto our underwriting workflow system.
  • Enter risk details into our underwriting system with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Develop and maintain strong client and broker relationships, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and the market.
  • Manage queries in a professional and efficient manner, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Represent MS Amlin at corporate and networking events, upholding our values and behaviors.
  • Monitor premium payments and liaise with brokers and CRT as necessary.
  • Assist in the redevelopment of exposure management and aggregate capture work, taking ownership of this process.
  • Conduct all activities in accordance with our Business Ethics policy and relevant regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Good knowledge and relevant underwriting experience, ideally in Reinsurance.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound financial and commercial acumen.
  • Strong Excel and numeracy skills.
