PERSON SPECIFICATION

We seek a full-time Account Manager with substantial public relations expertise who is sociable, motivated, dedicated, and enthusiastic. This position presents an opportunity for a driven and ambitious individual to establish their presence, evolve into a mid-level leadership role, and play a pivotal part in guiding our growth.

A solid grasp of the UK media landscape, PR strategies, and methodologies is essential. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for the design and creative sectors, alongside a comprehensive understanding of the digital media environment and its role in overarching communication strategies.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Your contribution will be vital to TDC PR's ongoing success as you transition into a mid-level leadership position, primarily focusing on client account management and overseeing junior team members, with opportunities to assist in strategic business development.

This role will report to TDC PR's senior management team, collaborating to co-manage our client roster and ensure the delivery of high-quality work in alignment with the standards and collaborative ethos that TDC PR has upheld since its inception.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overseeing a portfolio of clients with guidance from the senior team
  • Offering strategic advice to clients to enhance their PR, digital, and broader marketing initiatives
  • Providing media contacts with relevant commentary and product or company information
  • Fostering relationships with both existing and prospective clients
  • Building connections with key media representatives and industry influencers
  • Coordinating with clients on press initiatives, creative projects, and PR solutions
  • Engaging with the media, including discussions with journalists and press members
  • Delivering innovative and creative concepts to clients
  • Updating clients on press initiatives
  • Evaluating PR coverage, digital performance, and preparing written reports
  • Effectively communicating with a diverse range of stakeholders

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acting as the primary contact for key media representatives
  • Proactively tracking the media landscape for PR opportunities and advising clients on appropriate responses
  • Creating industry-focused PR and digital campaigns
  • Managing client needs and their accounts
  • Participating in daily meetings and keeping clients informed about PR and digital activities
  • Staying updated on current PR and digital trends and tools
  • Building client relationships and maintaining a network of media contacts
  • Leading both traditional PR and social media initiatives
  • Developing news angles, stories, and pitches to enhance client visibility
  • Meeting client performance indicators and expanding accounts
  • Participating in new business pitches and crafting integrated communications proposals
  • Managing high levels of client interaction
  • Assisting in writing and sourcing social media content for clients
  • Mentoring junior staff members

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of three years' experience in an in-house or agency PR role, ideally related to the sectors mentioned
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Advanced account management skills to ensure superior client service
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • A passion for media and social media
  • An interest in the sectors we serve, including design, innovation, and creative agencies
