Job Title: SEMH Maths Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths Teacher to join our team at a school in Basingstoke, Hampshire. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching Maths to students with SEMH challenges and a commitment to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role:

The SEMH Maths Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering Maths lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEMH challenges. This will involve managing classroom behaviour, implementing effective behaviour management strategies, and working collaboratively with other staff and external agencies to ensure students receive the emotional and educational support they need.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver Maths lessons that are specifically designed to engage and support SEMH students.
  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with SENCOs and support staff.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide a holistic approach to each student's development.
  • Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback and ensuring each child reaches their full potential.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or SEN is essential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient attitude towards teaching and behaviour management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with support staff, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
