Main Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as a Teaching Assistant at Completely Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to teachers and students in a Private Primary School in Newport.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students.
  • Support teachers in maintaining good order and discipline within the school.
  • Be familiar with and follow all school policies and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the cycle of school and self-evaluation, planning, monitoring, and delivery of school improvement.
  • Help teachers maintain a classroom or rooms to the highest standard, supporting the comfort, safety, self-esteem, and learning of students.
Supporting Learning and Teaching
  • Undertake class teaching and associated preparatory, assessment, recording, and reporting work in a subject specialism and/or other curriculum areas.
  • Demonstrate skills in and understanding of various teaching and learning strategies.
  • Lead and/or contribute to the planning and delivery of policy documents and schemes of work for subjects.
  • Impart knowledge, skills, and understanding to each pupil following modified and individualized schemes of work that deliver the National Curriculum.
  • Regularly review methods of teaching and programs of work.
Caring and Supporting
  • Provide care, support, guidance, discipline, and encouragement to students.
  • Sponsor and care for youngsters, offering them fairness, boundaries, compassion, and acting as a positive role model.
  • Work successfully alongside parents, stakeholders, and outside agencies in fulfilling responsibilities.
  • Interact appropriately with all members of the school community and its stakeholders.

Qualifications: NVQ level 2 or equivalent, GCSE Maths & English (A-C grade), NVQ Level 3 related to support for the learning of young people, SEN qualification.
