Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a seasoned finance expert to join Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust as the Finance Assurance Director.

In this capacity, you will play a crucial role within the Finance, Contracting, and Procurement division.

Your leadership will guide the Financial Assurance team, which encompasses financial services, treasury oversight, corporate financial management, capital strategy, and finance systems enhancement. You will oversee financial reporting and spearhead the creation of the organization's annual financial statements. Additionally, you will contribute to shaping the financial strategy and developing comprehensive financial plans. Your role will also involve acting as the primary contact for external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

To excel in this position, you should possess in-depth technical accounting expertise and strong interpersonal skills to foster effective relationships. A commitment to the ongoing development of our workforce, skills, and processes is essential.

Main Responsibilities

This position is accountable for leading the Financial Assurance team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering a thorough financial accounting service, including treasury oversight, VAT management, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Managing capital planning and execution.
  • Overseeing the corporate financial management team, assisting corporate budget managers, generating monthly budget reports, and providing financial guidance.
  • Consolidating the organization's in-year financial status.
  • Preparing financial reports for Trust Boards and Committees, along with completing submissions to relevant authorities.
  • Contributing to the development of the financial strategy and formulating both annual and long-term financial plans.
  • Finalizing the organization's annual financial statements.
  • Establishing and maintaining robust financial controls.
  • Enhancing finance systems and processes with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements.
  • Providing expert financial advice.
  • Serving as the primary liaison with Internal and External Audit and the local finance team.
  • Leading staff development initiatives, ensuring team members possess the necessary skills to excel in their roles and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
