Job Title: Team Leader

The Team Leader role at Keoghs is a critical position that ensures the team meets its financial and technical objectives. This includes Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and chargeable hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for encouraging, mentoring, and developing all team members to their maximum potential, while continuously improving the quality of the team's work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and distribute workload across the team, taking into account individual team members' current capability, to ensure timely and profitable completion of cases.
  • Provide updates and implement Keoghs' policies, procedures, and local initiatives, including actions arising from audits, to effectively inform and engage staff to perform to desired standards.
  • Ensure compliance with benchmarks set by Keoghs and clients, while driving settlement and ensuring quality of delivery.
  • Provide supervision to team members and progress through the competency framework to achieve a financial authority or increase in financial authority.
  • Identify and implement appropriate learning activities to ensure achievement of appropriate authority levels and ongoing development of all team members.
  • Manage client finances, controlling FE/PL costs, to ensure work is delivered profitably and cash flow is maximized.
  • Deliver personal caseload to required company standards and to fulfillment of personal targets.
  • Complete projects and process updates to improve current operating practices or address specific client issues.
  • Provide an environment where team members feel motivated and deliver excellence.
  • Effectively deal with complaints through agreed handling processes.
  • Maximise personal development of team members, identifying training needs and creation of succession planning.
  • Continuously improve the quality of work in the team, conducting audits as required by administrative policies and procedures, giving feedback to team members, and drafting and implementing improvement plans.
  • Monitor weekly and monthly financial management information of the team and manage performance of team members against Key Performance Indicators.
  • Ensure adherence to and creation of strategies for claims handling by individual claimant firms, including meeting with the Director of Costs and Technical Director to articulate challenges faced and relevant successes.
  • Prepare for and conduct Team Meetings, including disseminating information from Team Leader or Departmental Meetings to the team.
  • Manage team members according to the firm's policies and employment laws, ensuring that HR procedures are followed, such as appraisals, discipline, and grievances.
Working Hours:

35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location for this role is our Parklands Office, Bolton.

Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Proficient in all stages of the litigation process for Detailed Assessment/Standard Costs, including cost negotiation (both recoveries and opposing) and an understanding of budgeting.
  • Full financial and handling authorities in relation to hourly rate work.
