Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children with special educational needs and will be able to provide day-to-day support to students in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day support to students with special educational needs
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group sessions to support student learning
  • Assist in planning lessons and preparing resources and materials
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide a happy and fun environment for students to learn and enjoy attending school

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a primary school
  • Recent SEN Teaching Assistant experience
  • Experience using Makaton, PECS, or Colourful Semantics
  • Experience working with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Global Delay, Speech & Language Difficulties, Complex Needs/Challenging Behaviour, SEMH, EBD, MLD, ADHD, or Aspergers
  • Ability to work with children in EYFS, KS1, or KS2
