Senior Returns, Planning and Insights Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Returns, Planning and Insights Officer. This role will involve leading the work of the Division in delivering insight in our education and training activities, and preparing statutory student returns via our validating partner institution.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Assist with the delivery of regulatory reporting to our University Partners/Office for Students (OfS), including data cleansing, data queries, and data production.
  2. Develop and manage a suite of validation and exception reports using SQL and Power BI, ensuring optimal data quality at key points during the academic year.
  3. Collaborate with the Head of Academic Registry, Statutory Returns, Planning and Insights Manager, and Finance Manager to communicate change requirements and develop training and workshops.
  4. Utilize student data systems to develop and deliver BI dashboards for management teams within the Division and across the Trust, driving strategic change and meeting KPI targets.
  5. Evidence of further professional development in an area relevant to the role.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and experience of using effective dashboard design for business intelligence practice in conjunction with a data warehouse.
  • Experience of databases, preferably including SITS.
  • Experience of student records and databases, preferably including SITS.
Skills
  • Advanced analysis skills on Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Power BI design and development.
  • Project Management.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of using analytics platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.
  • Knowledge of developing Power BI Reports.
  • Able to communicate complex data to a varied audience, drawing out key learning and action points.
