Laboratory Operations Manager

Novogene Europe is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our laboratory platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing NGS protocols, automating laboratory procedures, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems and health & safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Lab Operations: Oversee the lab platform, consisting of two or more departments, to ensure smooth operation and efficient workflow.
- NGS Protocol Optimization: Develop and implement optimized NGS protocols to improve data quality and reduce turnaround time.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with quality management systems, including ISO17025 and GCLP, and health & safety procedures, such as the Human Tissue Act (2004).
- Project Management: Monitor project progress, communicate with relevant teams, and ensure projects are delivered within the turnaround time (TAT) and meet quality requirements.
- Production Planning: Formulate and update production plans according to projection, arrange pipeline to ensure smooth operation, and instruct team leaders to carry out production data summary and statistical analysis.
- Team Supervision: Establish responsibilities for team members by roles and technical levels, supervise them to perform their duties, and conduct departmental reports.
- A Bachelor's or advanced degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, or similar subject is required, with a minimum of five-year production laboratory experience and two years of team management experience of more than 10 staff.
- Strong teamwork ethic and commitment to delivering results under tight deadlines are essential.
- High accuracy and attention to detail are required for both laboratory and office-based work.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are essential.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and proficiency in Chinese are advantageous.
