About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Plastipak Packaging, Inc. as an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer. This is a key hands-on contributor to the success of our recycling solutions leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Drive process optimization across our flagship operation to continuously improve safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability, while decreasing cost.
  • Production Review: Review production reports to identify opportunities to reduce downtime, improve performance, create work instructions, and troubleshooting documents to help the workforce improve operation.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze data and complete assessments to identify improvement opportunities in spending reduction, cycle time improvement, and value-added labor tasks.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate, schedule, and participate in the preventive maintenance for the assigned process.
  • Solution Design: Oversee solution design, planning, implementation & follow-up to ensure expected results are achieved.
  • Facility Improvements: Participate in equipment installations and facility improvements, including business expansions.
  • Maintenance Projects: Assist in maintenance-related projects in a hands-on approach.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering Field for Manufacturing.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience, inclusive of internship/co-op experiences.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of developing and implementing process improvements and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Software: Microsoft Office experience with good knowledge of Excel to create tables, trend graphs, and worksheets.
  • Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude.
Work Environment
  • Shift: Mon-Fri 8a-5p
  • Compensation: $70,000+/yr (DOE)
