About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Dawlish. The school caters for over 200 students aged 3-19 with a range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, autism, and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students with complex needs, including those with autism and learning difficulties
  • Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes social and academic growth
  • Build positive relationships with students to encourage their confidence and independence
  • Help to implement individual learning plans and deliver one-on-one or group support to students
  • Support students in developing social and life skills within both classroom and residential settings
Requirements
  • Experience or a passion for working with children or young people with SEN
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the needs of all students
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
