SEN Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a specialist school in Dawlish. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with Special Educational Needs reach their full potential.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position, working with students aged 3-19 who have a range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, autism, and learning needs. You will work closely with teaching staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, providing tailored support to students and helping them develop social and life skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs
  • Assist teachers in developing and implementing individual learning plans
  • Build positive relationships with students to promote their confidence and independence
  • Support students in developing social and life skills in both classroom and residential settings
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the needs of all students
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
