Our operations encompass the transportation of products via various modes including road, rail, maritime, and pipeline, with a commitment to efficiency and reliability.

Role Overview

The Operations Manager will oversee the transportation and planning functions within the organization, ensuring services are delivered in a cost-effective and timely manner. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement and enhancing integrated transport solutions to provide exceptional service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure seamless collaboration across all operational areas to promote efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Inspire and develop team leaders, equipping them with essential management skills.
  • Guarantee adherence to all transport regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Facilitate clear communication throughout the transport operations.
  • Identify and implement operational changes to enhance efficiency and performance levels.
  • Maintain a secure and safe working environment for team members and assets.
  • Achieve operational efficiency through effective planning and daily management of staff.
  • Lead a team of approximately 60 drivers, alongside a management team comprising Transport Managers, Supervisors, and Schedulers.
  • Ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to compliance, service quality, and financial objectives.
  • Uphold statutory and company safety standards.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in transport management within a multi-site context.
  • A solid understanding of the fuel distribution industry.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
  • Experience in developing management teams in a logistics environment.
  • A professional demeanor, approachable attitude, and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on setting clear objectives and motivating teams.
  • Adaptability to change within a dynamic organization.
  • The ability to thrive in a competitive and demanding landscape.
  • Proficiency in cross-functional collaboration.
  • A commercial mindset, with a focus on quality and customer service.
  • National/International CPC certification (essential).
