Role Overview
The Logistics Operations Supervisor will oversee the planning and transportation functions within the organization, ensuring services are delivered in a cost-effective and timely manner. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing integrated transport solutions to provide superior service to our clientele.
• Assume comprehensive responsibility for fostering effective communication across all operational sectors to maximize efficiency.
• Inspire and cultivate leadership skills among team leaders to empower them in managing their respective teams.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant transport regulations and health and safety standards.
• Facilitate effective communication throughout the logistics operations.
• Identify and implement operational enhancements to boost efficiency and performance metrics.
• Maintain a secure and safe working environment for all team members and company assets.
• Drive efficiency by managing daily planning and staffing objectives.
• Lead a team of approximately 60 drivers, alongside a management team that includes Transport Managers, Supervisors, and Schedulers.
• Ensure the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to compliance, service quality, and financial performance.
• Uphold statutory and company safety standards consistently.
Candidate Profile
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in transport management within a multi-site framework.
• Strong understanding of the fuel distribution industry.
• Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels, with the ability to positively influence the team.
• Significant experience in developing management teams in a logistics context is preferred.
• Professional demeanor with a focus on facilitating smooth operational processes.
• Confident in setting clear objectives and motivating team members.
• Adaptable to change and capable of thriving in a dynamic organizational environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across various business functions.
• Strong commercial acumen and customer service orientation.
• National/International CPC certification is essential.
