About the Role

We are seeking a highly proactive and adaptable engineering leader to join our Engineering Safety Organisation (ESO) team. As a Mechanical or Electrical Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a central group of engineers who oversee and appoint around 500 people across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify regulatory compliance requirements and ensure the effectiveness of safety processes and standards
  • Define processes and procedures, undertake competency assessments and appointments, and provide discipline-specific safety advice
  • Transform the way we work by embracing new tools and technologies, simplifying our ways of working, and establishing best practice learning and development
  • Ensure the attraction, development, and retention of the workforce to meet the needs of our vital UK nuclear security mission
Requirements
  • Ability to articulate technical complexities and have very good communication skills
  • Previous experience of delivering engineering capability across a manufacturing and/or research environment
  • Reasonable understanding and ability to apply applicable legislation and standards relevant to safety within engineering
