About the Role
The University of Reading is seeking a highly skilled Space Manager to strengthen its existing space management capabilities. This role will provide much-needed resilience and bandwidth for innovation, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and availability of space-related data for the entire estate.
Reporting to the Head of Space & Asset Management, the successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the quality, accuracy, and availability of space-related data. This includes stabilizing processes, establishing a robust and efficient schedule of reports, and delivering enhanced approaches to reporting and space management.
The role is highly collaborative, requiring strong relationships with multiple key stakeholders within the Estates directorate and across the wider organization. The successful candidate will also have line management responsibility for a junior Space Management & Data Officer.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have significant skills in managing processes and influencing people. You will be a team player with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels and from all parts of the University organization.
Educated to degree level, you will have additional qualifications in space management and/or reporting tools such as PowerBi, Tableau, or Crystal Reports. You will have substantial experience working in space management roles for large and complex organizations, ideally with some experience in various methods for monitoring and measuring utilization.
You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and have experience of developing and embedding space policy and standards. You will have good communication and interpersonal skills, responding with flexibility to shifting priorities and changes in the urgency of allocated tasks.
