Parker Smith Inclusion is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Tutor to join our team as an Outreach SEN Tutor. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing one-on-one teaching and support to children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), particularly those with Autism, ADHD, Specific Learning Difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide personalized educational support to children with SEN in their own homes or public spaces.
- Work with children from challenging backgrounds and deprived homes, some of whom may have experienced trauma and anxiety.
- Manage and support children with dysregulated behaviour, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), ideally with a background in SEN.
- Strong understanding of the needs of children with Autism, ADHD, Specific Learning Difficulties, and SEMH.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a calm approach to managing dysregulated behaviour.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different environments.
- Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD): Children with SpLD have difficulties with particular aspects of learning, such as reading, writing, or maths, which can include conditions like dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dyspraxia.
- Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) Needs: Children with SEMH needs may struggle to manage their emotions, experience anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues, and may have difficulty with social interactions.
