Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to enhance our operations in Gateshead. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in the maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular maintenance inspections on material handling machinery to guarantee peak performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Efficiently identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
- Execute repairs and replace defective parts to reduce equipment downtime and boost productivity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to effectively plan and prioritize maintenance activities.
- Offer technical assistance and support to depot personnel and clients.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and company protocols at all times.

Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical or hydraulic systems; familiarity with forklifts is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to learn and expand knowledge in material handling equipment.

Benefits:

Competitive Salary:
£29,000 to £37,000, depending on experience.

Standard Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Overtime Compensation:
Time and a half for overtime and double time on Sundays.
