Geriatric Medicine Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Geriatric Medicine Specialist to join our team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Geriatrics, you will play a vital role in the Geriatrics Department, providing rehabilitation after illness and requiring a comprehensive knowledge of physical treatments, adaptations, and aids.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose, and manage complex geriatric conditions, including falls, dementia, and frailty.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers, ensuring excellent communication and empathy.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in geriatric medicine, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, enhancing the overall patient experience.
Requirements:
  • Hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Geriatric Medicine.
  • Be a member of the relevant Royal College for Physicians.
  • Have full GMC registration or be eligible.
