About the Role

Cygnet Health Care is seeking a skilled Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Trinity House, a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals, performing cooking tasks, and ensuring the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of meals, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
  • Perform cooking tasks, such as food preparation, cooking, and serving
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas, and dining room, including washing utensils, dishes, and storing them appropriately
  • Rotate stock and put away all deliveries
  • Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations
  • Handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures
  • Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations

Requirements

  • Experience in catering, preferably within a care setting
  • Holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards
  • Enthusiastic, keen to learn, and an active team member
  • Polite and professional, with a positive attitude at all times
  • Excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels
  • Diligent and take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness
  • Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team, and under supervision
