An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Director to join ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, UK & Ireland Door Group, reporting directly to the Managing Director. This role is based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
About the CompanyASSA ABLOY is a leading manufacturer of high-performance steel and timber doors, offering a comprehensive range of products tailored to individual project requirements. Our Door Group provides an end-to-end solution, including service and repair of various door types through a dedicated department, which incorporates fire door inspections.
Job SummaryThe primary objective of this position is to manage the finance function across the Door Group, providing strong leadership and developing systems and processes to support improved management of the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing performance, identifying risk, and ensuring good financial governance across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Support the preparation of Business Unit realistic and achievable plans and targets, ensuring the company delivers its commitments.
- Produce all financial information of the Door Group for the Group and senior management.
- Ensure full visibility of projects, in terms of sales and profitability, at every stage of their life cycle.
- Actively seek methods to enhance overall efficiency and performance of projects, interrogating data in system processes for accuracy and reliability.
- Review financial reporting processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of internal reporting.
- Develop and deliver improved IT systems to support seamless and accurate financial management from specification to cash collection.
- Manage cash flow and ensure strong financial governance through effective controls within financial processes.
- Prepare, monitor, and maintain monthly/quarterly/annual department and business unit forecasts and budgets.
- Control and reconcile business unit balance sheet.
- Support statutory and legislative financial requirements, including statutory audits, HMRC, and Irish Revenue Commission.
- Adhere to Group reporting requirements and deadlines.
- Assess and reduce company exposure to financial risk.
The ideal candidate will possess a qualification in Accountancy (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) and previous experience in a senior finance role. They will have functional and technical knowledge and skills to perform the job at a high level of accomplishment. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX or NAV is preferable, as is strong IT skills, including PowerPoint and Excel to an advanced level. The candidate should have experience in Manufacturing and/or Construction and have successfully worked to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will be able to build strong relationships and influence individuals/teams at different levels across the organisation, possessing excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. They will be good at figuring out processes necessary to get things done, understanding how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflows, and knowing what to measure and how to measure it.
