We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Owen Daniels. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for the design of precision parts for the aerospace industry.
About the RoleThis is a permanent position that offers a great opportunity for a meticulous individual who enjoys challenge and variety in their day-to-day work. You will be working on a global scale, designing and manufacturing complex metal components for prestigious blue-chip customers.
Key Responsibilities- Design and manufacture of precision parts, including forgings, tools, and dies
- Production of all necessary drawings and documentation to support design and manufacturing processes
- Recommendation and implementation of system modifications to improve efficiency and quality
- Compilation of working manuals and records to ensure effective forging operations
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Engineering Degree, preferably in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
- At least 4 years of relevant experience gained within an engineering business
- Prior experience in a design role, with strong knowledge of 3D CAD software (preferably Creo)
- Strong IT skills, including Mini Tab and Power BI
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with metals and basic metallurgy knowledge
