About the Role
The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team within Hyperacute and Complex Rehabilitation. This is a fixed-term contract position for 9 months, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to our leading neuroscience services.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist Occupational Therapy services to individuals with complex neurological conditions and major trauma. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting patients on their rehabilitation journey, empowering them to regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert clinical assessment and intervention for individuals with complex neurological presentations, including those with Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in the assessment and prescription of specialist equipment, wheelchairs, seating, splints, and orthotics.
- Lead and support the development of the Occupational Therapy Service within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Rehabilitation Network.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff and undergraduate/pre-registration students, fostering their professional growth.
