Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our Respiratory Intervention team at the John Radcliffe Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing and medical staff in the procedure room and recovery area.

About the Role

The Respiratory Intervention service provides a range of procedures, including bronchoscopy and pleural interventions, to aid cancer diagnosis and symptom management. As a Nursing Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the nursing and medical team in the procedure room and recovery area, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nursing and medical staff with procedures, including bronchoscopy and pleural interventions
  • Monitor patients during procedures and in recovery, performing and documenting observations
  • Provide comfort and reassurance to patients undergoing respiratory procedures
  • Participate in the safe manual handling and positioning of patients
  • Ensure that all equipment is cleaned and maintained correctly
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Good command of the English language and numeracy
  • Good general level of education
  • Care certificate or equivalent completed
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations
