About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Children's Clinical Decision Unit as a Senior Nursing Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team, providing high-quality care to children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Care for children and teenagers with the support of a registered nurse and be responsible for some house-keeping duties.
  • Assist the multidisciplinary team in assessing and monitoring patients, meeting the needs of patients and families, and providing safety netting advice for efficient discharge.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families/carers, and all members of the multi-disciplinary team, recognising the need to utilise alternative methods of communication where necessary.
  • Prepare patients, families/carers, and the environment for procedures, including supporting the wider team as needed.

Person Specification
  • Evidence of Level 2 Apprenticeship or Diploma in a Health-related subject.
  • Experience in the NHS and/or health/child care, with an interest in the speciality and knowledge of wider issues relating to healthcare.
  • Clear understanding of professional accountability, delegation, and professionalism related to the role of a band 3 worker.
  • Able to communicate effectively with patients/relatives and carers, and all members of the multi-disciplinary team.
