Grafton Banks Limited is seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Assistant to join their team. As a key member of the finance function, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Senior Management Accountant and contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process sales ledger invoices and reconcile payments to maintain a clean sales ledger.
- Import bank statements into the accounting system daily and perform bank reconciliations.
- Process purchase ledger invoices and verify them against purchase orders.
- Prepare weekly payment runs for suppliers and set up bank transactions for expense claims and one-off purchases.
- Support the Management Accountant in month-end processes, including journal preparation, intercompany postings, and reconciliation of control accounts.
- Ensure accuracy of accounts payable, including invoice processing, supplier statement reconciliations, and preparation of supplier pay runs.
- Assist with accounts receivable cash postings, allocations, refunds, reconciliations, and answer sales-related queries.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of invoices matched to purchase orders in the purchasing system.
- Contribute to revenue reporting and process control improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the Accounting Team email group and prepare month-end accounts.
- Post journals and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support year-end audit processes and ensure accurate bank postings and reconciliations.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements:
- At least 1-2 years of proven experience in finance, with a strong understanding of financial software, including Excel.
- Excellent time management, teamwork, and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a small, busy finance team.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
