The ideal candidate will possess qualifications as a Radiographer and hold registration with the HCPC. Proven experience in leading a team of Radiographers or serving as a Lead MRI Radiographer within the healthcare sector is essential. The successful individual will showcase their capability to take charge and drive the development of the department while managing a dedicated team. Responsibilities will include overseeing clinical operations, training and competency assessments, quality assurance, MRI safety investigations, and ensuring the MRI team remains informed of the latest practices and protocols.

As the Lead, you will establish the standard for exemplary patient experiences by being actively involved in clinical duties while also fulfilling operational responsibilities to ensure the department thrives alongside other diagnostic modalities. The service operates from 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday, with shifts aligned to these hours.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will be expected to take on supplementary tasks to assist the Imaging Services Manager. This includes conducting audits, financial assessments, budget planning, and staff allocation. Your adaptable and enthusiastic approach, combined with effective priority management, will be crucial for your success. While RPS training is preferred, it is not mandatory. Adhering to guidelines set forth by regulatory bodies will be vital to maintain a safe patient environment.
You will hold accountability for the MRI Department's service, and while experience in a similar setting is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement.
Key Qualifications:
Experience in commissioning a new MRI scanner. HCPC Registration. A DCR or BSc (Hons) in Radiography. Minimum of 2 years MRI experience, preferably in cardiac and small bowel enterography and liver imaging. At least 2 years of experience managing a team of Radiographers or as a Lead. A flexible and proactive approach. Experience in supervising and mentoring junior and specialist Radiographers. Responsibility for MRI safety in accordance with local regulations. Leading departmental audits and quality assurance initiatives. Competency in IV cannulation is essential. Contributing to the review, update, and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with statutory and organizational record-keeping requirements.Main Responsibilities:
Lead and educate the MRI service. Commission new MRI scanners for operational use. Perform specialized MRI procedures, including cardiac imaging. Prioritize tasks based on clinical urgency while managing the area independently. Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services across a diverse caseload. Demonstrate proficiency in the use of all relevant equipment. Collaborate with leading practitioners and utilize cutting-edge practices and facilities. Mentor and develop junior staff members. Ensure adherence to MRI safety protocols. Operate within IRMER guidelines and your scope of practice, in line with HCPC's code of conduct. Participate in departmental audits and quality assurance programs. Support Clinical Lead Radiographers. Ensure equipment is safe and operational, reporting any faults as per company policy. Competency in IV cannulation is essential. Contribute to the review and implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Comply with all organizational policies and procedures. Maintain accurate records in accordance with statutory and organizational standards. Participate in on-call rotations (must be able to respond within one hour of activation).In Return, We Offer:
