About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Solicitor to join our Planning and Highways team. As a key advisor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our region, providing expert advice on planning, highways, and environmental law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide complex and routine planning and highways advice to officers and elected members.
  • Manage and supervise junior colleagues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services.
  • Lead on key initiatives, driving forward projects that demand innovative legal solutions.
  • Work closely with elected members, senior officers, and across multiple teams to achieve our ambitious plans for a greener, more prosperous future.

Requirements

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives, with experience in planning law. You should be able to confidently manage complex legal matters and supervise junior colleagues.
