Position Title: Consultant Psychiatrist in Adult Inpatient Services
Organization: Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Adult Inpatient Services team. This role involves working within a dedicated inpatient unit that supports adults facing acute mental health challenges.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering exceptional psychiatric care, ensuring that all assessments and interventions are conducted with sensitivity and cultural competence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive quality enhancement initiatives and participate in service evaluation efforts
- Provide clinical oversight and guidance to the multidisciplinary team
- Conduct thorough clinical evaluations, consultations, and develop comprehensive care plans
- Engage in daily team meetings and weekly patient flow discussions
- Mentor and supervise junior medical staff and trainees
- Manage clinical risk assessments and care strategies
- Collaborate with community mental health teams, families, and other relevant stakeholders

Clinical Duties:
- Oversee patient care within the inpatient unit
- Lead the formulation of care plans and treatment strategies
- Work collaboratively with various services and agencies
- Ensure that physical health needs are adequately addressed
- Monitor and review patient caseloads regularly

- Provide professional mentorship to junior medical personnel
- Engage in service planning and organizational activities
- Participate in the Trust's academic initiatives and maintain professional licensure

Candidate Profile:
Education and Qualifications:
Essential:
- Medical Degree and Full GMC Registration
- MRCPsych (or equivalent qualification)
- Section 12 MHA Approval
- AC Approval
Desirable:
- Advanced degree (MSc, LLM, MD, or PhD)
- Training in management and leadership
- Expertise in Health Service Management
Core Skills and Experience:

- Experience in the assessment and treatment of mental health disorders
- Proficient in risk assessment and management
- Background in Health Service Management and IT proficiency

- Experience in service development and research initiatives
- In-depth knowledge of national healthcare developments
