Position Overview

EXCITING CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY FOR A LEAD SYSTEMS ENGINEER

  • Searchability NS&D is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to engage in a variety of innovative projects.
  • Must possess active SC Clearance.
  • Competitive daily rate available.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to ascertain necessary technical capabilities and timelines across extensive Information Systems delivery initiatives.
  • Assume a leadership position within the client-side team, working alongside functional leads to formulate and implement time-sensitive organizational capability delivery increments.
  • Partner with project delivery teams to explore opportunities for new operational methodologies.
  • Document lessons learned and integrate feedback into future strategies.
  • Provide external support to key military and defense entities, ensuring alignment with broader transformation efforts.
  • Facilitate effective technical decision-making and present clear pathways for stakeholders, empowering team members and colleagues.
  • Drive enhancements in the execution of critical delivery programs, promoting an 'architecturally led' approach and leveraging System of Systems and service-oriented thinking.
  • Safeguard commercially sensitive information to ensure it remains confidential to the client side.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in leading enterprise-scale solution development or evaluation within a defense context.
  • Prior experience as a Design Authority in a complex Systems Engineering setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives, whether in an industrial or client-side capacity.
  • Strong influencing skills with a diverse range of technical and non-technical stakeholders in both in-person and hybrid environments.
  • Advocacy for both engineering principles and change initiatives.
  • Familiarity with architectural methodologies, standards, frameworks, and tools (preferably TOGAF/Archimate).
  • Experience applying ITIL principles within the defense sector.
  • Solid understanding of Safety and Security Management practices in the defense domain.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management and baseline development throughout the lifecycle of complex programs.
  • Knowledge of Military Communications and Information Systems (CIS) and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.
  • Insight into military customer needs and defense procurement processes.
  • Project and program management expertise.
  • Commercial awareness relevant to the domain.
  • Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is desirable.
