Job Overview

Our client, a leading foodservice organisation, is seeking a highly skilled Buyer Food to join their team. As a key member of the procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and negotiating a range of food products that meet the company's strategic plan and deliver targeted sales and profit growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a designated food category, developing and delivering innovative ideas that exceed customer expectations and grow market share.
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan that will deliver long-term growth, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive cost savings through category management, developing good category knowledge and overview.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes that benefit the business.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a food buyer or assistant buyer within food retail, foodservice, or food wholesale within the UK.
  • Strong passion for buying and commerciality, with excellent negotiation skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders.
  • Good insight and data analysis skills, with the ability to action opportunities to drive profit.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
