An exceptional opportunity has emerged for an Information Security Operations Manager to become part of the innovative IT division at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. Reporting directly to the Head of ICT Operations, this role will focus on the technical aspects of the organization's cyber security services.
The Trust takes pride in its robust security framework, and you will have the chance to evaluate and propose enhancements. With commendable IT system security metrics, you will be joining a team that is well-acquainted with IT security issues.
Our cyber security operations are divided into two segments: Technical and Assurance. This position will primarily concentrate on the technical facets within the Southern Health environment and will later encompass the Solent services as the trusts merge. You will familiarize yourself with the technical landscapes to provide that essential layer of cyber expertise, contributing significantly to our protective measures and guidance.
To thrive in this role, you should possess advanced skills in cyber security and have prior experience in a comparable position, particularly at a managerial level. A proven history of managing personnel and incidents is essential, as is playing a pivotal role in shaping our future IT Security strategies through cyber controls and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
With an emphasis on confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the hardware and software assets at Southern Health, you will cultivate strong relationships with Systems and Networking engineers, the Service Desk, and Device Support teams to maintain and elevate current high security standards.
You will provide technical guidance to the Cyber Security Manager - Assurance regarding cyber elements of various compliance frameworks, including DSPT, DCB1596, ISO27001, ISO9001, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Your role will involve reviewing and co-developing the Trust's comprehensive suite of cyber security policies, procedures, and standards to ensure that all infrastructure and systems are safeguarded against cyber threats. All intelligence feeds must be scrutinized and acted upon. Through regular monitoring for incidents and/or suspicious activities within our IT systems and infrastructure, you will respond promptly to investigate and resolve any issues. Collaboration with the Cyber Associates Network is crucial in this role.
A vital aspect of enhancing security levels among staff is the implementation of cyber awareness training and educational programs. You will design, assess, and deliver these initiatives while ensuring that staff are informed of their responsibilities concerning cyber security.
Alongside the Cyber Security Manager - Assurance, you will conduct regular exercises to evaluate Disaster Recovery (DR) and Incident Response (IR) plans, updating procedures as necessary. Given that our systems and data security measures require ongoing testing, you will develop and execute ad-hoc audits to facilitate relevant improvements.
