About the Role

Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK is seeking a skilled Paint Strip Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the cleaning and preparation of commercial aircraft components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Component Cleaning and Preparation: Hand degreasing and machine washing of commercial aircraft components to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Paint Strip and Media Blast Operations: Operating plastic media blast booths to strip and clean aircraft components.
  • Quality and Safety Assurance: Ensuring all components are clean and protected for inspection, and complying with all relevant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Training and Development: Maintaining a Practical Experience Record (PER) book and providing ongoing training to personnel.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications: GCSE 9-5 grades or equivalent, and an apprenticeship within the Engineering field.
  • Experience and Skills: Previous experience with paint stripping, knowledge of hand tools, and understanding of PPE and manual handling.
  • Desirable Qualities: Previous experience in an aerospace environment, team player with ability to work independently, and strong focus on quality and health and safety.
Working Conditions

This role involves shift work with occasional overtime hours and requires the ability to lift heavy components. The successful candidate will also require the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
