Overview:

The Supply Register is pleased to collaborate with educational institutions to recruit skilled Special Educational Needs Support Assistants. This role involves providing essential support across various educational settings on a temporary basis, catering to both full-time and part-time needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in review meetings as necessary.
  • Utilize initiative to modify classroom activities to meet individual student requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver exceptional support to all learners.
  • Identify signs of distress in students and provide appropriate reassurance.
  • Establish positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence across all areas.
  • Work with children with diverse Special Educational Needs, either in small groups or on a one-on-one basis.
Qualifications:
  • Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification (HLTA) or a related Teaching Assistant credential.
  • Previous experience working with young individuals with Special Educational Needs.
  • Experience with SEND students is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • High expectations for all students and a commitment to personal and professional development.
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to safeguarding practices.

Applicants must possess a DBS registered with the update service or be prepared to apply for a new one, as this is a requirement. The Supply Register is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students, and we expect all candidates to share this commitment.

All appointments will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, including a check against the Children's barred list.
