This is a newly established position, and the key responsibilities encompass:

Report Compilation:

  • Assessing expenditures by department against budgets and forecasts.
  • Evaluating departmental performance by consolidating project summaries to illustrate areas of underperformance or overperformance.
  • Analyzing overall business performance against company metrics, emphasizing significant deviations.
  • Gathering and organizing financial information from diverse sources.

Trend Analysis:

  • Tracking secured and unsecured turnover to pinpoint departmental gaps and strategizing on how to bridge these to meet budgetary goals.
  • Monitoring underlying subcontractor expenditures to identify trends relative to initial budgets.
  • Reviewing detailed spending patterns, utilizing external market analysis as necessary to support assumptions regarding future overhead costs.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.

Industry Insight:

  • Staying informed on market trends and influences pertinent to the industry.
  • Enhancing understanding of key client and supplier relationships through internal and external data to provide deeper business insights.
  • Recognizing market deficiencies and risks associated with the business.

Financial Modeling:

  • Developing financial models for budgets and forecasts to enhance departmental management and reporting.
  • Improving cash flow analysis focused on project-specific needs.
  • Monitoring work in progress (WIP) and invoicing metrics to ensure cash flow remains a primary business focus.
  • Assisting in the modeling and management of various reports to support the business in achieving its key performance indicators (KPIs) and fulfilling its strategic objectives.
  • Collaborating with departmental leaders to formulate annual budgets.
