Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bright Horizons Bracknell Day Nursery and Preschool.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Chef in the preparation and presentation of age-appropriate food to high standards in a clean, safe, and pleasant environment. This will involve working in partnership with the Cook, nursery team, and parents to support the nursery's care and education provision.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for children, adhering to nutritional guidelines and dietary requirements.
- Ensure the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
- Support the Chef in managing kitchen supplies, ordering, and inventory.
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and presentation, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Work collaboratively with the nursery team to promote healthy eating habits and provide support for children with dietary needs.
- Ensure accurate records of supplies, orders, and inventory are maintained.
- Support the Chef in maintaining a safe and healthy kitchen environment, adhering to COSHH and other regulatory requirements.
- Experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a childcare setting.
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above qualification.
- Sound knowledge of COSHH and other health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure, communicate effectively, and maintain a high level of professionalism.
