About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bright Horizons Bracknell Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the chef in the preparation and presentation of high-quality food to our children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the chef in the preparation and cooking of age-appropriate meals for our children, ensuring minimal waste and adherence to dietary requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
  • Support the chef in managing kitchen supplies, ordering, and inventory control.
  • Take responsibility for the safe running of the kitchen in the absence of the chef.
  • Collaborate with the nursery team and parents to promote a healthy and nutritious diet for our children.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Experience in cooking in a domestic or commercial setting.
  • Food Safety CIEH L2 or above qualification (must be obtained on day 1 in post).
  • Sound knowledge of COSHH and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
