Job Summary
Venn Group is seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Advocate to join our team in the Legal Services department. As a Principal Advocate, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of advocacy legal work relating to childcare matters in the Family Courts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and advocate on a varied caseload of complex matters, including cases involving abuse, non-accidental injuries, child deaths, fictitious illness, and implacable hostility.
- Advise clients on the legal aspects of childcare matters in the Family Courts, providing expert guidance and support.
- Attend Committees, bodies, or panels as required, representing the interests of clients and the organization.
- Act as a mediator on arbitration matters for internal and external clients, facilitating resolution and agreement.
- Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of four years post-qualification experience.
- Willingness to conduct advocacy in court, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive and welcoming team.
- Hybrid working arrangement with significant remote working opportunities.
- Access to the Local Government Pension Scheme and an award-winning employee benefits scheme.
- 31 days annual leave, rising to 36 after five years continuous service, with the option to purchase additional leave.
