About the Role

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Design Manager to join our team at Siemens Energy. As a key member of our Grid Solutions business unit, you will be responsible for leading the technical design and delivery of complex power system projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal project management teams and customers on power system design and engineering.
  • Design Management: Lead all technical interfaces, coordination, and meetings to ensure effective design delivery.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of multi-discipline engineers to ensure timely delivery of engineering work during project acquisition and execution stages.
  • CDM Compliance: Ensure effective CDM design compliance and implement Siemens Energy's Safety by Design principles throughout the project.
  • Requirements Management: Ensure all customer functional and technical requirements are incorporated into the overall technical design solution.
  • Design Reviews: Chair design reviews and workshops to clarify technical interfaces and ensure effective design delivery.
  • Configuration Management: Implement design baselines and freezes, and manage design risk assessments, hazard and safety analysis, and other safety by design activities.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Conversant with the latest HV, MV, and LV plant standards and technologies.
  • Power System Engineering: In-depth knowledge of power system engineering, substation primary and secondary design, MV plant, and HV plant operation and maintenance.
  • Safety by Design: Understanding of Safety by Design and Constructability requirements of substations.
  • CDM Regulations: Familiarity with CDM regulations and discharging Designer duties.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • IT Literacy: Good standard of IT literacy, especially in Word and Excel.
