About the Opportunity

The Defence Industry Solutions Sector is a growing sector, and we are looking to recruit a Safety Case Engineer with extensive experience in the development of safety justification for nuclear infrastructure to join our Defence & Security business.

Candidates with similar safety case experience within high-hazard industries and/or significant nuclear defence industry experience will be considered, where this complements the existing team.

This role will be based close to our Glasgow office in a hybrid working role, with periodic visits to client sites as projects require.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing appropriate and proportionate safety justification documentation cases, predominantly including nuclear but also product, construction, process, and HSE.
  • Ensuring technical quality and excellence of work, with regular communication with clients and other design team members, and participation in design reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs, SHERAs, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Contributing to the development of safety requirements within designs for complex facilities, systems, and equipment.
  • Adhering to and contributing to business and quality management systems.
  • Operational and design safety, and developing a good safety culture.
  • Self-starter, with the ability to guide and lead others within the team.
