Join Our Team as a Medical Director/Adult Consultant Psychiatrist

Cygnet Hospital Woking is seeking an exceptional Consultant Psychiatrist to lead our Female Acute Service. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide psychiatric care to patients on our 11-bed Kahlo ward, supporting them to manage their mental health and prepare for independent life back in the community.

About the Role
  • Work collaboratively with our MDT to assess and treat patients, developing comprehensive treatment plans
  • Undertake mental state examinations, investigations, diagnosis, and treatment, ensuring the highest standards of care
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical audits, and risk assessments, driving quality and safety
  • Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings, ensuring seamless communication
  • Contribute to the telephone 1:7 Second on-call rota, providing 24/7 support

Requirements
  • Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
  • A first-rate communicator with excellent assessment and treatment skills
  • Committed to continued professional development and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych)
