Experimental Laser Scientist Industrial Placement

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our team as an Experimental Laser Scientist Industrial Placement. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our world-class research group and contribute to cutting-edge research in ultrafast laser science.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of experiments using ultrafast laser pulses
- Work with state-of-the-art laser systems and advanced instrumental control
- Collaborate with staff scientists and engineers to solve problems and develop new techniques
- Contribute to the development of the facility and its research programs
- Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course in physics, chemistry, or a closely related subject
- Returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement
- Ability to apply knowledge of science to solve problems
- Understanding relevant fundamental principles from their university course
- Highly motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Good problem-solving skills
- Responsible approach to health and safety
- Computer programming and/or data analysis skills
- Experience working in a research or laboratory environment
