About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Independent Visitor Coordinator to join our team at NYAS. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for managing and developing a pool of volunteers who provide support and friendship to looked-after children and young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and induct new volunteers to become volunteer independent visitors.
  • Match volunteers with young people who have been referred to the service.
  • Provide continuous support to volunteers to ensure the service is delivered to a high standard.
  • Monitor volunteer visits, budgets, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with social workers, carers, and other professionals to ensure effective collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience of face-to-face work with children and young people in a social care setting.
  • Knowledge and experience of the recruitment and training of staff and/or volunteers.
  • Experience and understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
