This position reports to
Production Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this capacity, you will have the chance to enhance the Production department's assembly techniques, workflows, and machinery to reduce labor hours in alignment with business strategies focused on quality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety. Daily, you will ensure the application of suitable production techniques, cycle times, equipment efficiency, and materials/components to meet production objectives. You will also leverage your expertise by outlining the operational sequence of a new production method to achieve the desired product cost and equipment investment budget. The work model for this role is: Onsite. This position contributes to the Electrification, Smart Buildings - Leeds Site. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Identifying and proposing enhancement opportunities and executing improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with timelines, quality, and budgetary constraints.
• Approving the design for processes developed internally or externally and conducting final evaluations concerning the project.
• Supporting Production during the initiation of internal/external processes/equipment, formulating action plans, and training relevant maintenance and production personnel.
• Assessing new process technologies to boost productivity, quality, and cost efficiency, defining and leading testing procedures, approval standards, and external vendor selections.
Qualifications for the role
- Strong foundation in implementing lean methodologies within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in lean manufacturing and process enhancements.
- Ability to enhance testing through product automation.
- Familiarity with PPM in a manufacturing context to ensure safe and efficient equipment operations.
- Proven track record in lean methodologies / 6 Sigma.
- Exposure to advanced technology in Electrification and a tangible impact on the future.
- Utilize your knowledge and expertise to influence technology positively.
- Experience a supportive and solution-oriented team environment.
