Strategic Commercial Leader - Building Control and Warranty Business

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Commercial Leader to lead our Building Control and Warranty Business. As a key member of our Executive Leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company's commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, and enhancing profitability.

About the Role
  • Develop and execute the company's commercial strategy for the Building Control and Warranty Business, driving business growth and expansion through effective leadership and commercial management.
  • Oversee the Commercial Division within HSB Engineering Insurance, comprising Technical Underwriting, Quote Generation Unit, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the strategic direction and focus of the division, including market development and customer service.
  • Provide motivational leadership to the division's leadership team and team members.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Operations Director to monitor product performance and enhancement opportunities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify product innovation opportunities and agree plans for their development, driving business growth and competitiveness.
  • Ensure required underwriting standards are clearly articulated and embedded across the underwriting teams, maintaining high standards of risk management.
  • Coordinate strategic growth, pricing, and retention initiatives to meet field capacity and appetite, driving revenue growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement plans to enhance customer service and experience, improving customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Requirements
  • Proven leadership experience in commercial, underwriting, and pricing, with a strong track record of driving business growth and expansion.
  • Effective stakeholder management in a matrix reporting line environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead the development and interpretation of numerical trends and analysis, with a strong analytical aptitude.
  • Strong financial acumen and critical thinking, with the ability to communicate complex topics in a simple manner.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the business, economic, and market environment, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
