Position Overview
This role seeks a dedicated Engineering Maintenance Specialist eager to contribute to a fast-paced consumer goods setting. The responsibilities will encompass equipment upkeep, breakdown management, and fostering enhancements within the engineering division.

Key Responsibilities


1. Execute and document all engineering activities on designated lines/equipment promptly and safely, addressing both electrical and mechanical tasks.

2. Generate and implement T-cards for all scheduled jobs on the assigned lines.

3. Maintain effective communication within your shift and across shifts regarding the technical condition of the assigned line/equipment.

4. Ensure that lines are left in optimal working order for the subsequent shift, conducting thorough shift handovers with detailed reports.

5. Keep records of engineering downtime for end-of-line processes.

6. Collaborate with the maintenance planner and inventory personnel for the scheduling and supply of spare parts and materials.

7. Work closely with the Engineering Team Manager for workload organization and technical assistance.

8. Accurately log all downtime in the SAP system. Identify and execute Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives alongside production colleagues and create T-cards for these activities.

9. Assist in changeover processes with production teams, contributing to Single-Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) programs and other lean methodologies.

10. Support and mentor Senior Operators in executing cleaning protocols.

11. Help establish and adhere to standard settings for all machinery.

12. Provide technical training to production staff and engineering apprentices on designated equipment.

13. Engage in self-directed learning to enhance your skills and knowledge, aiming for the Electrician Plus skill-set and sharing insights with peers.

14. Uphold and enhance cleanliness standards.

15. Ensure compliance with legal obligations for COMAH, ATEX/DSEAR, and other pertinent areas, including conducting level control proof-testing procedures.

16. Assume responsibility within the Emergency Evacuation Plan by participating in the Engineering Investigation Team, being present during emergencies, and fully understanding your responsibilities through practice sessions and weekly fire alarm tests.

17. Possess a working knowledge of site fire alarm systems and emergency shutdown and isolation protocols.

18. Adhere to Permit To Work systems, Isolation Procedures, and all other Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols.

19. Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, overhaul of spare modules, and planned downtime activities in collaboration with the maintenance team.

20. Accurately track all parts utilized for maintenance and repairs, logging them against the line/equipment.

21. Contribute to, and where applicable, take ownership of improvement/replacement projects.

22. Perform all necessary production tasks as part of the line crew on the assigned line.

23. Maintain change-parts shadow boards to support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) levels on assigned line/equipment.


Candidate Profile
A successful Engineering Maintenance Specialist should possess:
- Experience in the consumer goods sector.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A commitment to following health and safety regulations.
- Engineering qualifications obtained through a recognized apprenticeship or equivalent (NVQ Level 3).
- Multi-skilled with foundational electrical competency.
- Skills in continuous improvement and root cause analysis.
