Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for construction projects, utilizing industry-standard software and best practices.
Tendering & Procurement:
Manage the tendering process, including preparing and issuing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and contractors.
Contract Administration:
Administer contracts, including change orders, variations, and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
Cost Control:
Monitor project costs and expenditures, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or potential issues, and implementing corrective actions to ensure financial stability.
Reporting:
Provide regular financial reports and updates to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
Site Visits:
Conduct site visits to assess progress, ensure quality control, and manage cost implications, collaborating with project teams and stakeholders to resolve any issues.
Client Liaison:
Maintain effective communication with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to address any cost-related queries or issues, ensuring seamless project delivery.
Documentation:
Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all financial transactions and project records, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional membership with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or working towards it is highly desirable.
Experience:
Proven experience as a Senior Construction Cost Manager in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of construction processes and cost management.
Skills:
Excellent numerical and analytical skills, proficiency in cost management software, and strong negotiation and communication skills.
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and cost estimation.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve issues proactively and effectively.
Team Player:
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
