Estimator Manager

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled Managing Estimator to join our Water North management team and lead our estimating activities across the region.
As the Managing Estimator, you will be responsible for managing a team of estimators, producing accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects, and controlling the estimating process at project level.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of up to 5 estimators at varying levels, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
- Produce accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with company standards and procedures.
- Develop and implement estimating best practices, ensuring consistency and quality across the team.
- Support the development of departmental objectives, working closely with the management team to achieve business goals.
- Provide post-contract support and advice to the Contract delivery teams, ensuring seamless project handovers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, providing expert advice to the team and contributing to the development of the Estimating Hub.
- Highly qualified in Estimating or Quantity Surveying, with proven relevant estimating experience.
- Wide and varied experience of construction/infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of project management, planning, risk, and investment processes.
- Proficient in the production of estimates in Excel and experienced in using estimating software packages (e.g. Conquest, Candy, COSTX, RIB, Causeway).
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of working in a client-facing environment.
- Experience in managing and coordinating team members to deliver complex project estimates.
