About The Role

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled Estimator Manager to join our Water North management team. As the focal point for all estimating activity across the region, you will be responsible for producing accurate and comprehensive estimates for projects in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of up to 5 estimators at varying levels, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver high-quality estimates.
  • Produce estimates for complex, multi-disciplinary projects, utilizing your expertise in estimating and cost planning.
  • Develop and promote estimating best practices within the team, ensuring consistency and accuracy in all estimates.
  • Support the achievement of departmental objectives, working closely with the Contract delivery teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide post-contract support and advice to the Contract delivery teams, ensuring a seamless transition from estimating to delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, providing expert advice to the team and driving the Estimating Hub forward.
Requirements
  • High standard of education in Estimating or Quantity Surveying, with proven relevant estimating experience.
  • Wide and varied experience of construction/infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of project management, planning, risk, and investment processes.
  • Proficient in the production of estimates in Excel and experienced in using estimating software packages (e.g. Conquest, Candy, COSTX, RIB, Causeway).
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills and experience of working in a client-facing environment.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating team members to deliver complex project estimates.
