About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Blaymires Recruitment Limited. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for providing commercial support to our project managers and ensuring that financial performance meets or exceeds profitability targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Support: Provide commercial support to project managers, including preparation and issue of standard contract documents, contract letters, and associated documentation to clients.
  • Contract Management: Prepare detailed scope of works for sub-contractors, run pre-let contract meetings, and agree on sub-contractor day work sheets.
  • Financial Management: Value sub-contract works on site, agree and sign off final accounts for sub-contractors, and prepare monthly valuations to clients.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle, and maintain an accurate record of variations and their recoverability.
  • Project Coordination: Prepare project spend data and forecast costs to complete monthly, and manage a project risk register.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: HNC in Construction or relevant degree-level qualification.
  • Experience: At least 3 years' experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or sub-contractor.
  • Skills: Strong numeracy and financial management skills, good working knowledge of MS Office, and intermediate level of Excel.
  • Communication: Ability to write clear and precise communications, including detailed and complex figures, calculations, and specific building information.
